For the first time in Deer Valley’s history, the resort opened for Thanksgiving weekend, a week earlier than usual. They only had a few chairlifts and ski runs open, but the conditions were quite good, and the weather was sunny and beautiful. The season is off to a great start, with abundant natural snow coverage and continuous cold temperatures needed for snowmaking. The resort is working hard to open more terrain, and we should see many more chairlifts operating in the next couple of weeks.
Below is an update on construction progress for the end of November 2024 at Sommét Blanc in Empire Pass at Deer Valley® Resort. Milestones include the start of horizontal shoring for Level Three at Building C, capping of the Basement Level and rebar assembly for the foundation slab of the P2 Level of Building B, and continuation of shear walls and columns for the first half of the Bowling Level at Building A.
Scroll down to view recent progress from the sequential photos below:

Once the walls at the perimeter are complete, they can backfill along the exterior, which will soon enable the temporary construction road to move to the west end of the site, wrapping around Building A. Above: Our Webcam 5 shows the progress at Building C. The structural columns and shear walls are nearly complete on Level Two. Installation of the horizontal shoring has begun on Level Two, which will allow crews to start the construction of Level Three. Most of the shoring supports have been removed from the Garage Level and Level One, allowing for interior construction at those levels. November 29, 2024.
