On Wednesday, May 22nd, the Park City Planning Commission approved Deer Valley’s proposal for a new six-pack bubble lift on Park Peak this Wednesday. This approval signifies further progression in the ski resort’s expansion strategy, which aims to install nine new lifts and expand the terrain by approximately 3,000 acres before the 2025-2026 winter season.
The newly approved Lift 7 will originate at the junction of the Trump and Ontario ski runs, carrying skiers to Park Peak, Deer Valley’s highest peak located just behind Bald Mountain. Deer Valley’s vision for this lift includes the construction of a new lodge and gondola connecting Park Peak to Snow Park and the upcoming base in East Village. Spanning 600 vertical feet and stretching just over half a mile, this six-pack lift can accommodate 3,000 skiers per hour.
Construction is expected to kick off later this year. Part of the plan involves clearing 13 acres of trees to make space for approximately four miles of new beginner ski trails. However, the lift towers are scheduled to be installed in the summer of 2025.
