Above: An interesting close-up photo of acoustical putty wrapped around electrical outlet boxes. Acoustical putty pads are moldable, fire-rated putty that can help to maintain the acoustic integrity in wall assemblies. They are primarily used to prevent sound transmission and fire spread through wall cavities. They effectively fill the spaces and voids around electrical fixtures, preventing the passage of airborne noise between rooms. This sealing action significantly reduces noise leakage and enhances the space’s overall acoustic insulation, resulting in a quieter, more comfortable environment. Building C, February 28, 2026.
